Ready to Roll!
Alright!
Now that sub.domains are working, we are about to send out the first round of invites on Pointillist Press.
Clean up a few things and we’re off.
Another WordPress MU goes live!

Pointillist Press
Our new domain came live on Monday. About bloody time.
Now to get stuck into the ‘wild card’ thing. If I have followed the threads at all. My hosts will need to do this.
Onto that today. Then we start the invite process.
We have already built three custom themes for our MU. Embeded custom fonts need to be done yet.
So much to do….

n. A postimpressionist school of painting exemplified by Georges Seurat and his followers in late 19th-century France, characterized by the application of paint in small dots and brush strokes.
We are in the midst of moving 12thharmonic.com to our new hosts. We have also added a WordPress MU install at our new domain.
The DNS is still doing its propagation swing as we speak. Should be viewable in 24-48 hours.
We will use a fairly strict invite system as we get to know the new system. I don’t expect this to be a problem. WordPress rarely is.
My FTP client has been running flat stick for hours. Databases already imported. So far so good.
The first invites will go to some mates. Deserving long time bloggers who for whatever reason are still stuck with Blogger.

One, maybe Two new MU sites coming!
As we plan our server move for 12thharmonic.com. We will also add a WordPress MU installation and offer some free WP blogs to our blogging mates who are still stuck with Blogger. Details to come soon.
Another mate here in Australia is considering a MU install.
I’m having a test run on our current servers. The real work will come when we move our other blogs first.
More to Come!

Crosspost : Browneye’s Perjury
The Letter from the La. Govenor included all the counties, parishes in the storms path. Including ‘ORLEANS’. Sent to the vacationing president who responded the next day. Here’s the hitch…
Some democratic counties were not on the federal reply, that put FEMA into action. Are you following this?
The govenor makes a full request including “New Orleans and these locations were not included in the response.
Not to mention, a real FEMA director would have looked past the paperwork anyway. Lives were in the balance.
And for them. Help came a week later.

Kick Ass Plug In! : Bad Behavior
If you hate poker spam, porn spam, home finance spam, badlie splt schpam, (purple pill) penis envy spam. well the answer is here.
A simple plug in install. and bam! No more Spam! No more lost time deleting. Oh did I mention there is no settings, no control panel to deal with!
Nothing. Turn it on and forget about spammers!
From the Author’s site:
Bad Behavior is a set of PHP scripts which prevents spambots from accessing your site by analyzing their actual HTTP requests and comparing them to profiles from known spambots. It goes far beyond User-Agent and Referer, however. Bad Behavior is available for several PHP-based software packages, and also can be integrated in seconds into any PHP script.
May I also recomend the BBStats Plug in as well. It displays the number of blocked attempts in your footer or sidebar to give the spammers a good old Bronx Cheer!
Looks like there is some part of BB in wordpress.com? Matt?
KILL SPAM DEAD!

Uggghhhhh. That was painful
Here’s a bit of a vent.
Over the past few weeks the response times from our hosted website have been grotesque. Another blogger who I convinced to use the same hosts has been having the same issue. Pings fine, transfer 30-60 seconds per page. 60 seconds for one wordpress page. Painful
I have been happy with our hosts for two years now. This episode was weakening my joy. I was getting a response of. Not us, your ISP. I asked some of our American readers about this. Response time was fine. O.K. a general internet issue. Now almost two weeks into not blogging due to a mutated form of blogspot rage.
My mate gets a response that holds more water.
Thank You for writing in. We are terribly sorry to inform you that unfortunately there are a bit of problems with our data center and that is causing the difficulties.
They are on it. And I expect it will be sorted soon. I only wish it had not taken two weeks. They have been great hosts. I think a few more of us began loading up the support mailbox. Prompting a closer look.
